Individual Counseling

“Individual Counseling Changes Your Life Because It Teaches You How To Take Charge Of Your Life.”

You Don’t Have To Suffer On Your Own.

People come to counseling to deal with a wide array of emotions and feelings. You don’t have to be in crisis. You don’t have to worry that your problem is too big or too small. Therapists are trained to deal with most of the things you are experiencing.

The average therapy session lasts for approximately 50 minutes during which time your counselor works with you to explore the nature of your problem. A professional counselor can help you pinpoint some of the specifics of your problem so that you are better able to understand and manage the issues that may be causing distress and unhappiness.

New Paths And New Ways Of Doing Things

I have worked with many people and helped them to discover new paths and new ways of doing things-teaching them how to:

  • Get in control and manage all that stress so “it” isn’t what’s in control of your life
  • Reduce anxiety by not “sweating the small stuff”
  • Take care of yourself both inside and out
  • Improve your relationship with partners, friends and family — (if a relationship has potential, you don’t want to risk losing it).

I work with you as an experienced guide

I listen, inquire and then suggest possible directions and paths. Each person is unique  so each session is individual, unrehearsed and is a natural response to the details of  your personal life story.

Short-term Therapy

Short-term therapy is another option when all you want is a bit of perspective and some new tools. You could be going through a job change or a whole life change but you may not feel that you want to commit to a long process, or spend years in therapy to do this.

Get Focused And Gain Clarity.

Learn the answers to these and other questions:

  • Do you know what you want?
  • Do you know what you don’t want?
  • Can you visualize a path to getting what you want?

Positive visualizing is a skill that I teach which amounts to helping you create a vision for what you want in your life.  Think about it like this–if you can’t see the road, how will you know if  and when you are on it?

Short-term counseling is energizing, positive and productive. If you are committed to change, you can make it happen.

**For more complicated issues, it can take longer to effect lasting change. Alternatively, some clients start out with a short-term focus, achieve their initial objectives and decide to continue with therapy to pursue further personal growth and development.

***Short-Term therapy isn’t right for those suffering with major depression, trauma, substance abuse issues, personality disorder and/or any one dealing with suicidal ideations.
