About Me
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland and hold a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Vermont College in Montpelier, Vermont. I am licensed in the state of New Jersey as a Professional Counselor.
I have additional training in the expressive arts and I am certified in Poetry Therapy through the National Association of Poetry Therapy.
I have also received post-graduate training in the following areas:
- Couples and Marriage counseling.
- Mindfulness & Meditation
- Journal Therapy
- Group Counseling
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
I have completed advanced training in Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and served on the Sexual Assault Response Team in Morris County, NJ. In 2004, I co-founded a non-profit organization that provided education and services to indigent survivors and their families.
In addition to my practice, I am a regular blogger and a contributor to a number of on-line magazines. I write extensively on issues related to stress, relationships, meditation and parenting.
My poetry has been published in RATTLE, Poetry Magazine and The Aurorean. My paintings have been featured in newspapers, books and magazines. I am currently working on a book entitled “Chasing Normal”.
